Grading Policy!All students will receive two types of grades from Mr. Coleman.
#1: Letter Grades in PowerSchools A percentage will be given to each graded assignment. I will take the average of a students percentages to calculate a final grade. Incomplete assignments are given 0% until completed and turned in. Stay up to date on your assignments to avoid low grades! A+ 97%-100% A 93%-96% A- 90%-92% B+ 87%-90% B 83%-86% B- 80%-82% C+ 77%-79% C 73%-76% C- 70%-72% D 60%-69% F 0%-59% #2: Number Grades on Report Cards Assessments provide an opportunity to gauge your understanding of material covered each week. Every Friday you will have a vocabulary quiz and skills assessment. The assessments will be graded on the same scale as your report card objectives! 4 Exceptional 3 Meets Standard 2 Approaches Standard 1 Beginning Standard A score of 3 or 4 means a student has successfully mastered that skill at the 6th grade level. A 2 means the student is close but still requires teacher assistance. 1 means the student struggles to understand the concept and cannot perform the required skill. |
